前置詞とは？
前置詞は、名詞や代名詞の前に置いて、時間・場所・方向などの関係を表す言葉です。
前置詞は必ず名詞や代名詞の前に置きます。
例：at school（学校で）、in the park（公園で）、on Monday（月曜日に）
1. 場所を表す：in, on, at, under, by など
The book is on the table.（本は机の上にあります）
2. 時間を表す：in, on, at, before, after など
I get up at 7 o’clock.（私は7時に起きます）
3. 方向を表す：to, from, into, out of など
I go to school.（私は学校へ行きます）
場所を表す前置詞
場所を表す前置詞は、物や人がどこにあるかを示します。

on the table（机の上に）、on the wall（壁に）、on the floor（床に）
at：ピンポイントの場所
at the door（ドアのところに）、at the bus stop（バス停で）
場所を表す前置詞を入れよう
The book is the desk.
I live Tokyo.
The cat is the table.
I’m waiting the bus stop.
The school is the park and the library.
時間を表す前置詞
時間を表す前置詞は、いつ何かが起こるかを示します。

at：時刻（ピンポイントの時間）
at 8:00（8時に）、at night（夜に）、at noon（正午に）
on：曜日・日付（特定の日）
on Sunday（日曜日に）、on January 1st（1月1日に）
in：月・季節・年（長い期間）
in March（3月に）、in spring（春に）、in 2024（2024年に）
※ 注意：in the morning（朝に）、in the afternoon（午後に）、in the evening（夕方に）
でも at night（夜に）は at を使います！
for：期間の長さ（どのくらいの間）
I have studied English for three years.（3年間英語を勉強しています）
since：起点（いつから）
I have studied English since 2021.（2021年から英語を勉強しています）
時間を表す前置詞を入れよう
I get up 6:30.
We have a party Saturday.
It’s cold winter.
I play tennis school.
I have lived here five years.
方向を表す前置詞
方向を表す前置詞は、どこへ向かうか、どこから来るかを示します。

| across | 〜を横切って | walk across the street（通りを横切る） |
| through | 〜を通って | walk through the park（公園を通る） |
go to school（学校へ行く）、go to the park（公園へ行く）
でも、go home（家へ帰る）には to をつけません！
同じように、come home、arrive home も to なしです。
from と to を組み合わせて「〜から〜まで」という意味になります。
I walk from my house to school.（私は家から学校まで歩きます）
The store is open from 9 to 5.（その店は9時から5時まで開いています）
方向を表す前置詞を入れよう
I go school every day.

by は「〜によって」という意味で、手段や方法を表します。
by bus（バスで）、by train（電車で）、by car（車で）
※ 注意：on foot（徒歩で）は by ではなく on を使います！
1. 〜と一緒に（人）
I went to the park with my sister.（妹と一緒に公園へ行きました）
2. 〜を使って（道具）
I write with a pen.（ペンで書きます）

前置詞を使った重要な熟語
前置詞は、動詞や形容詞と組み合わせて熟語を作ります。

日本語では「〜を」でも、英語では前置詞が必要な場合があります。
✗ I’m looking my keys.（間違い）
○ I’m looking for my keys.（正しい）
✗ I’m listening music.（間違い）
○ I’m listening to music.（正しい）
be good at（〜が得意だ）、be interested in（〜に興味がある）など、
形容詞の後ろに特定の前置詞が続くパターンを覚えましょう。
be afraid of（〜を恐れる）、be proud of（〜を誇りに思う）
be famous for（〜で有名だ）、be different from（〜と違う）
